1. Sign up for a Google Analytics account.
Visit https://analytics.google.com and ensure you are signed in to your Google account (the email address associated with your Google products such as Gmail, Google Ads, YouTube, Google Tag Manager, etc.).
2. The following steps depend on whether you already have a Google Analytics account:
- If you have an existing Google Analytics account (e.g., Universal Analytics), select “Admin” ➞ “Create new account.”
- If you don’t have an existing Google Analytics account, click “Start measuring.”

3. On the account setup page, provide a name for the account.

If you’re unsure, you can use an individual’s name, company name, or brand name as a starting point.
Note:
- You can create multiple Google Analytics accounts.
- It’s not recommended to use your website’s name as the account name since you’ll add it as a property later. A Google Analytics account can contain multiple properties.

4. Once you've entered the account name, click "Next."

5. In the property setup, provide a name for your property.

The property name should be the name of your website or mobile app. Set the appropriate time zone and currency for your business/website/app. Then click “Next.”
6. Fill in the remaining business details and click "Create."

- Industry category: Specify the niche your business belongs to.
- Business size: Indicate the number of employees, including yourself.
- Intended use of Google Analytics: Explain the purposes for which you’ll be using Google Analytics.
7. Accept the terms of service agreement for Google Analytics.

8. Configure your email communication settings for Google Analytics.

9. You will then be presented with a dashboard to set up a data stream.

A data stream refers to the data collected for your website or app. There are three platforms you can choose to set up a data stream for:
- A website
- An Android app
- An iOS app
Select the option that is most relevant to you. For this tutorial, we’ll choose “Web.”

10. Enter your website's URL and provide a name for this data stream to help you identify it.

Leave the enhanced measurement enabled by default. Then click “Create stream.”
11. You will see a summary page displaying the data stream for your site, indicating that you have successfully created a Google Analytics 4 account.
